Retail & Commercial Fit-Outs

Electrical Done Right, First Time

Davies Electrical Director, Tony Davies, talks us through his approach to commercial fit-outs.

You may know that I specialise in residential houses, but I also help businesses across north Auckland get their shops, offices, and workspaces up and running with smart, safe electrical fit-outs that look sharp and work hard for small businesses.

Whether you’re opening a café, doing up a salon, or fitting out an office, getting the electrical side sorted properly, with care, efficiency and design, makes a huge difference.

It’s not just about cost-effective lights and power points, it’s also about creating a space that flows, feels right for your valued customers, and doesn’t give you a headache down the line.

I understand how tight timelines and budgets can be.

When you’re doing a commercial fit-out, time is money. You’re juggling builders, shopfitters, branding, stock deliveries and more. So when I come in, I work in with everyone else, stick to the schedule, and get the job done. I believe in clear communications, tidy work, and no surprises.

Case in point – a recent fit-out for a real estate office.

The team brought me in for the electrical work, but what they really appreciated was the lighting design advice I gave them along the way. I took the time to think about how people would move through the space, where desks and client seating were going, and what kind of atmosphere they wanted to create: professional but warm, bright but not too harsh.

We used layered lighting to zone the space properly, highlight signage and feature walls, and avoid the flat, clinical look a lot of offices end up with. I also made sure power and data points lined up with their furniture layout, so there were no ugly cables running across the floor later on. The team were extremely happy, and the place looks really sharp.

Design, compliance, and future-proofing

Whether it’s an office, salon, clinic or shop, I’ll make sure everything’s compliant with commercial regs – emergency lighting, fire-rated fittings, proper load management – and help you future-proof for any changes down the line.

Ballpark pricing?

Every job is very different, and a small retail or office fit-out might range from $8,000–$15,000+, depending on the size, complexity, and what materials are involved. I’ll always give you a proper quote upfront, no guesswork or hidden costs.

If you’re fitting out a commercial or retail space around Rodney, Silverdale, Warkworth or Albany, and want an electrician who brings more than just a toolkit, please drop us a line.
